20-yo magician wanted by United in talks to sign new deal with European giants – report

Manchester United have struggled to get going since Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down from the hot seat at the Theatre of Dreams in 2013.

The English giants haven’t won the league since the legendary Scot retired. They ended up 15th in the table last season, their worst finish in the Premier League era.

INEOS are working to get United back to their glory days, and have invested smartly in the transfer market so far. The Red Devils’ recent recruitment strategy has demonstrated an eye for both the present and the future.

The aim, of course, is to assemble a squad capable of dominating the Premier League like Sir Alex’s famous teams of old, while also making their mark on the European stage.

United want to win the league in 2028

United CEO Omar Berrada and co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe have previously stated that they aim to win the Premier League by 2028. A key part of that strategy is to build a squad with a healthy mix of youth and experience.

Understandably, the Red Devils are keeping a close eye on emerging talents around the globe. Despite investing in the attack over the summer, the Premier League giants remain keen to add more creativity to their squad.

Recent reports suggest that United have set their sights on Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz and are willing to offer €90m to prise him away.

Yildiz has been outstanding for Juventus since breaking into the senior side in 2023. He has amassed 18 goals and 15 assists from 92 games in all competitions. A left-winger who can also operate as an attacking midfielder or across the frontline, the 20-year-old is reportedly also wanted by Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Blues even failed in their attempt to prise him away from Turin this summer, so United could face competition from the Premier League in the race. However, the English trio may be in for disappointment in their pursuit of the sensational Turkish attacker.

Juventus want him to stay

According to Tuttosport, Juventus are already in talks to hand Yildiz a new deal until 2030, with the option of an additional year. Negotiations have progressed well, although no breakthrough has been reached yet.

The Bianconeri are offering him a pay package worth €4.5m per year, including bonuses, although the player’s entourage is holding out for a slightly improved proposal.

However, both parties are confident that a resolution will be reached soon, especially since the Turkey international wants to continue his association with the Italian club. Juventus also view him a vital part of their future plans.

The update is likely to be a big blow to INEOS’ plans. However, United are expected to keep a close watch on how the player’s situation unfolds in Turin. Should a renewal fail to materialise, the Red Devils could be tempted to make a move for Yildiz.
