Manchester United are set to face recently promoted Burnley at Old Trafford in our third Premier League game of the season.

The encounter closes out a jam-packed seven days of football for the Reds, which started with a trip to Craven Cottage to face Fulham.

We then travelled to Blundell Park for our Carabao Cup clash with Grimsby Town on Wednesday night, making for a tight turnaround to this Saturday afternoon meeting.

Keep scrolling for all the vital information you’ll need ahead of the match, including team news, TV info, and much more…

HOW TO WATCH AND FOLLOW

The Clarets’ visit is scheduled for a 15:00 BST kick-off at Old Trafford, and therefore cannot be shown in the UK due to nationwide broadcast restrictions.

You can still follow the action, however, with our Matchday Live show getting under way direct from M16 at 13:55 on MUTV, in the United App and on ManUtd.com, before we head into live radio commentary to keep you up-to-date with action.

We’ll also have live updates, exclusive interviews and interactive content throughout the day across our platforms, before hearing from Ruben Amorim and his Reds after the full-time whistle.

TEAM NEWS

Lisandro Martinez is still undertaking his recovery programme for a serious knee injury and our match against Burnley will come too soon for him, but there is a shorter timeline currently expected for Noussair Mazraoui, who has not appeared for the Reds since our pre-season friendly with Leeds United, but Amorim confirmed he is nearing a return.

Further updates on the Moroccan, along with the rest of the squad, are likely to be delivered by the head coach in his pre-match press conference for this game.

Benjamin Sesko made his first United start in the penalty shootout defeat at Grimsby, while Andre Onana replaced Altay Bayindir in goal for the second-round tie.

Jordan Beyer, Connor Roberts and Zeki Amdouni are all likely to be unavailable for Scott Parker’s side with none of the trio expected to make an imminent return from knee injuries. Manuel Benson is also not thought to be in contention, as he continues to work towards full match fitness in Burnley’s Academy.

As with Amorim, Parker may also provide further information in his media duties prior to the match.

FORM GUIDE

The Reds will be looking to kickstart some league momentum against the Clarets, after only securing a point from our first two outings against Arsenal and Fulham, despite strong performances across the pitch.

A win at the Theatre of Dreams would be ideal both for our place in the Premier League table, and for a positive note to take into the international break by responding to the midweek disappointment.

The visitors had a stark reintroduction to the top tier with a 3-0 loss to Thomas Frank’s Tottenham Hotspur, but managed to pull things back with a 2-0 win against Sunderland, with Jaidon Anthony setting up Josh Cullen, before the midfielder returned the favour late in the game.

Burnley gained promotion on the back of an incredible defensive record and will hope to be tough to breach at Old Trafford.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS

Recent history is much in United’s favour when it comes to facing Burnley, with the Reds undefeated against the Lancashire side in our last seven outings, stretching back to January 2021.

Our last clash in M16 ended in a 1-1 against the Clarets when a 79th-minute goal from Antony was cancelled out by a Zeki Amdouni conversion from the penalty spot in the dying embers of the game.

On account of Burnley spending last season in the Championship, this game will Amorim’s first taste of facing the Clarets, so while the Reds, as a whole, will want to right the wrongs of that last meeting, the head coach will be eager to gain three points against this specific opponent.
