Outgoing Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has thrown his support behind Michael Carrick for the permanent managerial position at Old Trafford. The Englishman has been a revelation since taking charge at Old Trafford in January this year as caretaker manager following the departure of former head coach Ruben Amorim. However, they also have a managerial decision to make, with Carrick only in charge until the end of the season. Carrick compared to Carlo Ancelotti Casemiro went on to compare Carrick to former Real Madrid manager and current Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti. The Brazilian has appeared 75 times under the Italian manager to date and enjoys a cordial relationship with him. Casemiro also stated that the Englishman understands the players’ requirements as he has played at this level, adding: “He played at this level. You know what the players’ feelings are. Ancelotti, he is a big manager because he understands.” “He played. He knows what the players need to listen to, and he pushes, but he knows the time to push. He (Carrick) knows. So for me he deserves it.
