Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano fully expects Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho to end up at Chelsea before the end of the summer.
The Argentinian failed to lock himself a regular starting role at Ruben Amorim’s court as he did during Erik ten Hag’s tenure, when he was hailed as a ‘phenomenal talent’.
The 21-year-old shared a frosty relationship with the Portuguese manager from the get-go, and it all came to a head after the Europa League final, when the player publicly voiced his frustration after being kept on the bench for 70 minutes.
Therefore, Garnacho was identified as one of five Man United stars who are considered surplus to requirements.
Man United aiming to offload Garnacho & three others
Thus far, Marcus Rashford is the only member of the so-called ‘bomb squad’ who has found an escape route out of Carrington, joining Barcelona on loan with an option to buy. On the other hand, Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia still linger in Manchester.
But while the other three are facing uncertain futures, at least the Argentinian has a clear plan in mind, with Chelsea emerging as the ultimate frontrunners to secure his services. Garnacho has even agreed personal terms with the West Londoners.
Therefore, Romano insists that the Atletico Madrid youth product will eventually sign for the Blues, barring any unforeseen events.

As the transfer market expert explained in the latest video update posted on his YouTube channel, Garnacho has made it clear that he only has eyes for Chelsea, refusing to consider any other destination.
Romano adds that the deal remains ‘absolutely underway’, and that the Stamford Bridge outfit will open direct talks with Man Utd at the right moment. Nevertheless, the Club World Cup winners must first offload players to make room for new arrivals like Garnacho and Xavi Simons.
Chelsea are expected to offload Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson, two players who were previously linked to Man United, but are no longer needed, as INEOS have already revamped their attack by recruiting Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.
