United forward has said “yes” to league champions, but INEOS will need to lower their asking price – Sky

Manchester United are desperate to get rid of Jadon Sancho, and they might need to lower their asking price in order to get rid.

The Peoples Person had relayed Napoli’s interest in the Englishman, and now, Sky Italy have claimed the 25-year-old has verbally agreed to move to the Serie A champions.

However, Antonio Conte’s side are in no position to pay the €25 million being demanded by INEOS, especially with the forward having only one year left on his current deal.

“Napoli are pursuing a possible second signing from the Premier League: Jadon Sancho. They are yet to reach an economic agreement with Manchester United.

Jadon Sancho open to Napoli switch

“The English club has a high asking price for the player, 25 million euros despite his contract expiring in 2026.

“The Englishman has given his yes to the possibility of moving to Italy. There are the conditions for an agreement but Manchester United’s economic request is high. Work continues.”

Not to forget the England international’s £250,000 per week wages (via capology), which will also pose a stumbling block to Napoli’s quest to land the winger, with the player not keen on taking a pay cut.

Which is why intermediaries have suggested that the United co-owners must lower their demands or risk being stuck with the trouble-maker.

There is a lot of loan interest in the former Manchester City academy graduate, but the Red Devils will need to subsidise his wages with Borussia Dortmund also keen.

INEOS will need to lower their demands

But United want a permanent solution to the problem, or else they will need to not only subsidise his wages but also trigger the one-year extension option in his contract.

The 20-time English league champions have struggled to offload Jadon Sancho, with Chelsea paying a penalty to escape their obligation to buy while West Ham turned down a direct deal as well as a swap proposal.

Hopefully, United can agree a deal with Napoli soon to avoid this from turning into a full-blown saga, even if it means a lowering their asking price.

They can include sweeteners like a sell-on clause to make a deal more palatable. There is interest from Saudi Arabia as well as the Premier League, but selling to a foreign club would suit INEOS much more.
