Euro giants open transfer talks with United forward’s representatives after two impressive spells at the club – report

Once again, Jadon Sancho is expected to leave Manchester United, and this time, the hope is for a permanent move.

His time at Old Trafford has been frustrating.

After arriving in 2021 for £73 million, the winger struggled to justify his price tag.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was unable to unlock his potential, and Erik ten Hag fared no better.

Eventually, tensions between Sancho and Ten Hag escalated, leading to his exclusion from the squad.

Loan Exploits

Sancho then went on loan, first to Borussia Dortmund, where he played a key role in their journey to the 2024 Champions League final, and later to Chelsea last season.

At Stamford Bridge, he showed flashes of brilliance, helping the Blues win the UEFA Nations League and reclaim Champions League football.

He was expected to remain at Chelsea for £25 million, but the deal collapsed.

The West Londoners returned him to Old Trafford and paid a £5 million fine after the permanent transfer fell through.

Reports suggest the move failed because Sancho and Chelsea were unable to reach an agreement on personal terms.

Now back at the Theatre of Dreams, some believe he could thrive as a No. 10 in Ruben Amorim’s system, but his long-term future at United remains uncertain.

INEOS are expected to move him on, leaving the question of where he will go next.

Dortmund Set Sights on Sancho in Bid to Revamp Their Attack

According to The Athletic, Dortmund “have expressed their interest in Jadon Sancho to the player’s representatives.”

The German club, looking to rebuild their attack, reportedly see the winger as an ideal No. 10 to play behind striker Serhou Guirassy in their 3-4-2-1 system.

The outlet says that “Sancho is one of several candidates for the role, with Freiburg’s Japanese international Ritsu Doan another.”

A return to the Bundesliga is tempting, especially considering his success there, but one obstacle could stand in the way.

Like Chelsea, Dortmund would require Sancho to lower his wage demands before they commit to a deal.
