Amorim and his coaches can’t stop raving about United academy ace’s “high footballing IQ” – report

Ruben Amorim made the bold call to make plenty of changes for Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers, in a move which clearly showed that the head coach was now prioritising the Europa League.

The Red Devils predictably ended up on the losing side but it was not the youngsters who let the Portuguese tactician down, instead it was the senior players.

Harry Amass looked comfortable with the ball while he was aggressive in his defending and more starts are expected for the Academy sensation.

Debutant Tyler Fredricson made an assured bow, with Amorim full of praise for the duo and even claimed that they did not deserve to be on the losing side after putting in such impressive displays.

Academy wonderkids impress

“Tyler [Fredricson] played really well, also [Harry] Amass played really well and they deserve better. We were the better team, we played well and created chances but then again, one opportunity for the opponent at the end and they scored.

“What I felt today is that they deserved a better memory from their first games.”

The Daily Mail have further claimed that coaches cannot stop raving about the Mancunian, who has impressed with his attitude and intelligence.

“Humility is the go-to word in the camp when it comes to Fredricson. Coaches find him a willing learner and a player with a high footballing IQ.”

Coaches delighted with Fredricson

Injury problems have halted his progress in recent seasons after he was expected to break through under Erik ten Hag following a brilliant FA Youth Cup campaign. But the 20-year-old seems to have grasped his opportunity with both hands with Amorim now a fan.

“He’s really composed, really humble,” Amorim said. “Every training session with the first team, he’s focused on every detail. He’s really good on the ball. So it’s a good opportunity for him.”

With Ayden Heaven still not fully fit and Lisandro Martinez out until next year, there is a chance for the England U18 international to stake his claim for increased minutes.

If he can end the season on a high and impress during pre-season, the sky could be the limit for Fredricson.
