United on red alert as Juventus plot stunning swoop for PL striker who is Amorim’s prime target – report

Manchester United’s hopes of landing promising striker Liam Delap could face a significant challenge as Juventus have entered the race for the Ipswich Town star.

The 22 year old has impressed this season with a string of performances that have put Europe’s elite on alert, and his future is set to be one of the major stories of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Delap joined Ipswich from Manchester City in a deal worth €18 million and has since made a strong impact in the Premier League.

He has scored twelve goals and registered two assists despite Ipswich’s struggles near the bottom of the table.

If they do drop back down to the Championship, a release clause in Delap’s contract will become active, allowing him to leave for a reported €35 million.

Such a clause could prove tempting for United, who are expected to bolster their attacking options this summer.

Rasmus Højlund has shown promise but still needs support and competition, and Delap’s age and profile make him a logical target.

However, according to TuttoJuve, the Bianconeri have now emerged as strong contenders for Delap’s signature. Juventus seek to rebuild their frontline and see the young forward as a long-term investment with high upside.

Juve’s interest forces United to act promptly if they wish to secure the player.

The Bianconeri have been aggressive in the market in recent years and could be prepared to meet Delap’s clause as soon as it becomes active.

The Red Devils, meanwhile, are still assessing their budget for the summer, with outgoings likely to influence how much can be spent on new recruits.

Delap’s situation will be watched closely by United fans, particularly if Ipswich’s relegation is confirmed in the coming weeks.

The combination of Premier League experience and youthful potential could make him one of the window’s most sought-after players.
