Manchester United could reportedly loan out Marcus Rashford next season, in case Aston Villa don’t exercise their option to make his signing a permanent one.
Rashford joined Villa on loan during the January transfer window after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim.
The United boss left him out of several matchday squads, constantly citing selection and training reasons as the motivators behind the decision. However, there was suspicion that there was more to the story.
Rashford last featured for United on December 12, in a Europa League group stage match against Viktoria Plzen.
He has enjoyed an uptick in form under Unai Emery. Rashford has notched an impressive three goals and six assists across all competitions. His improved performances saw him regain his place in the England squad and the Manchester Evening News recently revealed that the forward has “never been happier” than he currently is at Villa.
MEN revealed that Rashford has appreciated Emery’s man-management.
Villa have the option to sign the Carrington academy graduate for £40million in the summer but a definitive decision on whether they’ll do so has yet to be made.
According to The Times [via Manchester World], it is unlikely Amorim will commit to working with Rashford again if he were to return to Old Trafford in the summer.
This may force United to engineer another exit. It’s understood that club chiefs are considering loaning out the 27-year-old again ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
The hope is that he’ll go somewhere else, play well and increase his market value.
In January, Rashford was linked to the likes of AC Milan, Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli, Juventus and Barcelona, so he is unlikely to be short of suitors.
It’s however been mentioned that his dream is to line up for Barcelona and he hasn’t given up hope of joining them.
