It has been a year to remember for Manchester United forward Amad, who has established himself as a regular first-team player capable of producing the most special of moments.
Since returning from a long-term injury in our final game of 2023, away to Nottingham Forest a year ago on Monday, the forward has not looked back and arguably been United’s best player since Ruben Amorim became head coach in November.
While losing our last three games has meant a tough run of recent results, the Ivorian has continued with his efforts to make good things happen in those matches and can look back proudly on 12 months of personal progress, punctuated by winning his first major trophy at the club in the FA Cup, a highly impressive pre-season and epic last-gasp winners over Liverpool and Man City that have earned him immortal hero status in M16.
Now, the 22-year-old is focused on building on those triumphs as 2025 approaches, being one of several young talents with plenty of potential to succeed over the long term in Amorim’s United squad.

Speaking during a special interview with club media, in which he talks us through his journey as a professional footballer to date through a series of special photographs, Amad rounds things up by looking ahead to the future via a picture of himself with Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.
Asked about being part of a young core of emerging players, the forward expressed his and his aforementioned team-mates’ desire to help turn the club’s recent fortunes around and put us back at the top of the game over the coming years.
“We are part of the project, we have so many young players for this club, especially Garna, Kobbie, Joshua [Zirkzee], Rasmus [Hojlund], me, we are young players who want to make history for this club,” our no.16 said, speaking to club media’s Adam Marshall.
“We want to do our best every game. Sometimes it cannot work, but you can see in the pitch we our very focused to do our best for this club, because we want to bring back this club to the level it was before.
“So, for the young lads, we just have to keep going, work hard and the most important thing is to listen to the old men, the old players, learn every day.
“We have now a new manager, he likes to work with young players, and he brings a new system, so we just have to follow it and try to do our best every game.”
Amad will hope to be involved in Monday’s meeting with Newcastle (20:00 GMT kick-off), our final game of the calendar year, as we look to get back to winning ways after defeats to Tottenham, Bournemouth and Wolves have followed our recent derby-day win at Man City, in which he scored the dramatic late decider.
