Manchester United fought hard in the second half to register a 2-2 draw with Everton at Goodison Park — and fans have been voting for their key man from the Premier League clash.

Goals from Beto and Abdoulaye Doucoure gave the hosts a comfortable cushion heading into the break, leaving plenty for Ruben Amorim’s side to do on the other side of half-time.

The levels had evidently been cranked up following the restart and Bruno Fernandes made it pay, striking a clever free-kick which rooted Jordan Pickford and nestled perfectly in the bottom-right corner. Manuel Ugarte’s equaliser less than 10 minutes later was just as inspired, neatly taking control of the ball before firing a volley with the outside of his left boot, curling away from Pickford and into the back of the net.

But who did you vote as our Man of the Match in United’s last outing at Goodison? Keep scrolling to find out…

Which Red was our star man against Everton?

Topping the poll with a sizeable 58 per cent of the fan vote is our captain, Bruno Fernandes.

Sometimes, when the chips are down — as they were on Merseyside following the first half — you need your leaders spark a revival, sometimes from nothing, and Fernandes certainly played that role today.

Shaping up for his second free-kick in quick succession, after the ball was handled by Everton in the first instance, the Portugal international was clever in aiming for the far side when Pickford had expected an effort lifted over the wall.

His quick thinking earned United a foothold in the game, and visibly lifted the side’s confidence, which is bound to have played a role in the equaliser to following just minutes later.

Coming in second place was the scorer of the leveller, Ugarte, who took 18 per cent of the vote for his crucial 80th-minute strike.

Without much time to think, the Uruguayan controlled the ball on his chest at the edge of a crowded Everton box and, before the ball had dropped back to the floor, volleyed home United’s second, leaving Pickford no hope of reaching it.

As his first goal for United, you couldn’t hope for much better in terms of execution and important to the game.

It’s no shock to see the two scorers featured prominently in this poll, given how vital their acts both were in salvaging a point from our Merseyside trip.

January signing Patrick Dorgu also received substantial attention (12 per cent) in only his third appearance for the club. Even in some of the toughest moments, the Dane always looked a bright outlet down the left side, but he was always going to struggle to topple today’s goalscorers.

Congratulations, Bruno, and thanks to all those who voted.
