Manchester United Women cruised to a 7-0 victory over West Brom on Saturday evening as we began our defence of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
Marc Skinner’s side were in fine form at Leigh Sports Village scoring six times inside the final twenty minutes to book our passage to round five of the competition.
Rachel Williams (three), Celin Bizet (two), Ella Toone and Melvine Malard all found the net as the Reds asserted our dominance against a spirited Baggies side.
Following the encounter, we asked you, the supporters, to vote for your Player of the Match and the votes flew in for one contender in particular…

Williams: It was meant to be!
Rachel Williams reacts after netting a hat-trick off the bench against West Brom, days after her 37th birthday…
Scooping a whopping 43 per cent of the vote, hat-trick hero Williams romped to win the award just 24 hours after she celebrated her 37th birthday.
The former Tottenham forward came off the bench to net a 14-minute hat-trick after being brought on to replace fellow goalscorer Malard.
Rach tormented the West Brom backline with her aerial presence and is a worthy winner, we feel, for the award.
Just behind our no.28 was the returning Ella Toone who netted a spectacular strike on her return to the side.
Tooney curled our fourth goal into the top corner with some style, marked her comeback in typical fashion.
We are delight to see our no.7 back in action and can’t wait to see more of her in 2025.
In third place was Malard herself after she opened the scoring with a fine header midway through the first half.
Converting Geyse’s cross from close range, the 24-year-old was a problem throughout the encounter and was unlucky to chalk up just the one goal.
But our worthy winner goes to Williams after a terrific display.
Congratulations Rach, keep at it!
