Which Reds are on international duty?

ManUtd.com reporter Adam Marshall at Old Trafford.

There are 12 Manchester United players, as things stand, representing their countries at senior level during the international break.

Three of Ruben Amorim’s first-team squad are playing for Denmark – Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu, Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund.

Dorgu is available for the Reds again upon his return, after serving the final match of this three-game domestic suspension in the 3-0 away win at Leicester City on Sunday.

Hojlund heads into the two-legged UEFA Nations League quarter-final ties with Portugal in good heart, after notching his first goal of 2025 to open the scoring at the King Power Stadium.

Of course, Portugal have two United men in their squad for the fixtures – Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes, who combined for the third strike against the Foxes.

Matthijs de Ligt also has two last-eight matches in the competition to look forward to, after he was drafted into Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands squad. The centre-back, so impressive of late, appeared to pick up a knock at Leicester but soldiered on to help preserve a clean sheet.

The Dutch are taking on Spain in what should be an interesting contest.

England have home World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia, with Marcus Rashford, currently on loan at Aston Villa, named in Thomas Tuchel’s first squad since taking charge.

James Scanlon, who was on the bench for the Europa League quarter-final second-leg win over Real Sociedad, will hope to add to his caps for Gibraltar, as they open their World Cup campaign against Montenegro and Czech Republic.

Elsewhere in Europe, Victor Lindelof‘s Sweden have friendlies with Luxembourg and Northern Ireland.

Further afield, Manuel Ugarte has World Cup qualifiers in the South American section, against holders Argentina and Bolivia.

In the African World Cup qualifiers, Andre Onana‘s Cameroon face Eswatini and Libya, while Noussair Mazraoui and Morocco meet Niger and Tanzania.

Best of luck to all our Reds representing their countries!

Matthijs de Ligt could be facing Spain with the Netherlands.
