The midfield is Manchester United’s priority position to strengthen come 2026. With Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro, Ruben Amorim has found a pivot he can work with. Yet this is not the strongest midfield base the Portuguese tactician can build his team around. Amorim needs young, talented, and dynamic midfielders who, under his guidance, can lay the foundations for United’s dominance as the Red Devils look to return to the top. Several names have already been linked, including Angelo Stiller. Amorim wants Stiller The VfB Stuttgart midfielder is one Amorim has specifically asked INEOS to sign for him. It is easy to see why the United boss covets the deep‑lying playmaker. Stiller is admired for his exceptional vision, composure, and progressive passing, despite operating from a defensive midfield role. He has the qualities to transform United’s midfield play, and reports claim United are even prepared to outbid Real Madrid for his services. Tricky transfer However, there have been suggestions that the player himself favours a move to Madrid. Interestingly, while United still hopes to beat Los Blancos to the deal, Bastian Schweinsteiger has offered Stiller some intriguing advice about his future. The former Bayern Munich and United midfielder believes Stiller would be wise to return to the Allianz Arena. Stiller spent 11 years with the Bavarian giants, progressing through their youth ranks, Bayern Munich II, and eventually the senior side (made three senior appearances). He later joined Hoffenheim before moving to Stuttgart, where he has become a big hit. Schweinsteiger on Stiller’s best landing spot Now, as Stiller prepares to take the next step, Schweinsteiger told Bild via Sport Witness: “Angelo is a very interesting player. I would very much like to see him back at FC Bayern.” Such comments hardly help United’s bid to secure the German midfield conductor. United still have hope Even so, there remains time to sway Stiller towards Old Trafford before he commits elsewhere. 🚨👀 Angelo Stiller on his future: “I’m interested in moving abroad at some point”. “I thought Florian Wirtz’s decision to go to Liverpool was cool. But only one thing is certain for me: at the end of my career, I absolutely want to play in the USA”. pic.twitter.com/dENsjis3Cl — Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) September 3, 2025 The 24‑year‑old harbours ambitions of playing abroad, and that alone should give United hope of winning the race, provided they press hard and make their case convincingly.
