Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford impressed in FC Barcelona’s mammoth 6-0 victory over Valencia CF.

Gradual return to form

The United attacker was loaned out to Barcelona in July and has had an up and down start to his career in Spain.

He did quite well in pre-season but has hardly had the biggest influence in the league.

Rashford did enjoy a return to the England set up and scored a penalty against Serbia last week.

Impressive on the night

The 27-year-old grabbed an assist for Raphinha when the ball was played out to him on the left.

He made some space for himself and fired in a peach of a ball that was just begging to be turned into the goal.

Rashford was eventually replaced in the 68th minute by Dani Olmo.

The attacker completed 88% of his passes as his side dominated possession and the run of play throughout the night.

His passing wasn’t only safe though as he completed three key passes in the match, making things happen for the Catalans.

Two of his four crosses found their target and he completed his only long ball attempt.

He could not get on the scoresheet however as he had two efforts off target as he has still not yet opened his account for the Catalan giants.

Rashford will be disappointed with his dribbling though as he failed to get the better of the Valencian defence on four occasions.

What’s more, he managed to lose five out of his six ground duels as he struggled to help his side out from a defensive perspective.

Rashford will return to England this week as his Barcelona side travel to St James’ Park to take on Newcastle United in the first game of the Champions League.
