United’s pursuit of World Cup finalist in danger as transfer rivals aim to steal a march in negotiations – report

Manchester United are in a race against time to secure their long-term striker target.

Interest in Randal Kolo Muani

The Red Devils followed Kolo Muani in the winter and were interested in making a loan offer for the World Cup finalist.

The Frenchman ended up joining Juventus though and scored ten goals in the second half of the season.

With United failing in bids to sign Liam Delap and Viktor Gyokeres, they are still on the lookout for a new striker this summer.

Therefore, they have recently been linked with a new move for Kolo Muani and are said to be willing to pay €45 million to land the forward.

Juventus move stalling

Kolo Muani clearly has no future at Paris Saint-Germain as he is currently being made to train with the youth team until he sorts out a move away from the club.

Juventus have been the club most actively involved in trying to sign the player but are yet to reach an agreement with PSG, leaving the door ajar for clubs like United.

Juve aim to act fast to beat United

The Old Lady aim to act fast to land the player ahead of United according to Calciomercato.

The Italian website states, Juventus “are anticipating United’s move and they are aiming to raise their loan offer for Kolo Muani: PSG wants easy terms for the player’s obligation to buy.”

Despite their interest in the forward it is asserted that, “it won’t be easy to convince the Parisians or overcome competition from Manchester United, who have been closing in on Randal in recent days.”

It has been suggested that Juventus’ general director “Damien Comolli has clear ideas, to lock down Kolo Muani before other teams (such as Manchester United) and make a decisive move” in this week.

The French forward is valued around €40-€45 million and “Juventus would like to try to raise their offer for the loan to around €10 million. The mandatory buyout would be around €30-€35 million. Comolli’s work will be crucial in convincing PSG of the figures and, above all, the formula.”

Crucially, the Champions League winners do not want the player back in Paris in 12 months and want achievable terms for the obligation to buy.

Therefore, with Juventus stepping up their interest, United may need to act fast to secure a deal for the 26-year-old striker.
