Manchester United’s transfer window could hinge on the future of Alejandro Garnacho.

Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth claims that while United are reluctant to part with Garnacho, a sale could provide much-needed flexibility in the market due to financial constraints related to Premier League sustainability rules.

Napoli and Chelsea are both said to be interested in the Argentina international, but Chelsea’s potential involvement might hold the most significance.

Should Chelsea meet United’s valuation, the funds could facilitate further dealings for Ruben Amorim’s side.

A Garnacho departure could pave the way for United to pursue Christopher Nkunku on loan from Stamford Bridge.

Although a permanent transfer is deemed unlikely due to budgetary limitations, a loan move for Nkunku would bolster United’s attacking options.

The funds from Garnacho’s sale would also allow United to focus on a more urgent priority—the left wing-back position.

United have been heavily linked with Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu, but negotiations remain tricky, with a gap in valuation causing friction.

They reportedly view Lecce’s stance as “brinkmanship” and are unwilling to overpay for the Danish-Nigerian full-back.

Should they secure Dorgu, it would open the door for Tyrell Malacia to leave on loan, with several European clubs reportedly interested in the Dutch defender.

However, the Garnacho sale remains a crucial factor in unlocking these deals.

The outcome of this situation could shape the club’s squad for the remainder of the season and determine their ability to compete on multiple fronts.
