United want to “get rid” of star midfielder as coaching staff is “fed up” with his performances – report

Manchester United have been left disappointed by Casemiro’s impact this season, as per reports.

Marcus Rashford’s fallout with Ruben Amorim has received plenty of media attention over the last few weeks.

The new United gaffer reportedly dropped the Englishman from his matchday squad for the Manchester derby in mid-December after his subpar performance in training.

Rashford hasn’t been handed a single minute of football by Amorim since then and is expected to exit Old Trafford this month, having reportedly already agreed personal terms with Barcelona.

The ex-Real Madrid midfielder arguably has had an even worse campaign on the pitch, having looked a shadow of his former self.

According to Fichajes, United are “fed up” with Casemiro’s poor level of performance this season.

He hasn’t featured for the Red Devils this year, having been left as an unused substitute in the side’s last four outings.

It is claimed the 32-year-old has “generated disappointment in the board and the coaching staff.”

Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte have become regular starters under Amorim. Meanwhile, for rotation, Amorim has placed his trust in academy midfielder Toby Collyer, who has appeared a lot more composed in possession than Casemiro and has also done well out of possession.

The Spanish outlet claim that “everything points to the club having already decided to get rid of the player in this transfer market.”

However, an imminent exit appears unlikely due to very limited interest in Casemiro’s services. His astronomical wages, believed to be north of £300k-a-week, have also made United’s attempt to offload him difficult.

Al-Nassr were heavily linked with a move for him early this month. However, on Tuesday, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming “a January deal is off the cards” as the Saudi Pro League outfit now have different priorities.
