Manchester United have finally been informed how much they may have to pay to bring Vitor Roque back to Europe. Roque’s career failed to take off on the continent despite impressing with Brazilian side Athletico Paranaense. He struggled to make an impact at Barcelona and later during a loan spell at Real Betis. United have emerged as a serious suitor, with recent claims suggesting he could be lined up as a replacement for Joshua Zirkzee. Well, if United do allow Zirkzee to depart and look to bring Roque on board, it has now emerged how much they may need to pay to get the deal over the line. How much for Roque? According to Manchester World, citing sources in Brazil: “Roque’s representatives expect the bidding to go up as high as £44m, which is still considerably less than what was paid for Sesko and most of the other strikers who moved to the Premier League.” All eyes will now be on United to see whether they are willing to strike a deal for the Samba star. That said, if United believe Roque is the right fit for Amorim’s system, they will need to move quickly to secure his signature. Chelsea, according to reports, are also keen on the forward. A striker reborn A clinical finisher with goals in his armoury, Roque could undoubtedly prove a perfect Zirkzee replacement, provided United act decisively.
