United tipped to move for brilliant England international if his club is relegated – report

Manchester United have significantly improved their attacking output this season after a dismal run in front of goal last campaign. The Red Devils finished the 2024/25 season with just 44 goals in 38 Premier League games. INEOS invested over £200 million in Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha over the summer, and the English giants have subsequently been outstanding in the final third. United have already scored 44 goals in 24 Premier League games this season, the third most in the top tier of English football after Manchester City (49) and Arsenal (46). The Red Devils are expected to turn their focus to the midfield this summer, with Casemiro set to leave and Manuel Ugarte’s future hanging in the balance. The Brazilian has been indispensable for United of late and they are likely to prioritise a proper replacement before the start of the next season. However, a fresh update suggests that the Red Devils could also make a move for a Premier League forward at the end of this season should the opportunity arise. United eyeing Jarrod Bowen According to TEAMtalk journalist Dean Jones, United could make a move for Jarrod Bowen this summer if West Ham United are relegated. Speaking on YouTube, he said: “West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen will be on the radar as an option to give United a new edge, if West Ham are relegated.” The Hammers are 18th in the Premier League table after 24 games, six points behind Nottingham Forest in 17th. If they end up being dropped to the Championship, Bowen could be tempted to jump ship in search of greener pastures. A stellar record in the Premier League Bowen rose through the ranks at Hereford United before spending six seasons at Hull City. He joined West Ham in January 2020 and has since been one of their most important players. The 29 year old has registered 64 goals and 40 assists in 224 appearances in the Premier League to date. This season, Bowen has scored eight goals and set up two more in 24 games in the league, all of which were starts. With Joshua Zirkzee’s future uncertain, the Red Devils could be tempted to invest in the frontline at the end of the season. Bowen is under contract at the London Stadium until 2030 and, under normal conditions, West Ham would have rejected any advances for their main man. However, a possible relegation from the Premier League could alter the scenario, especially since it would also have financial implications. Final Thoughts Should Bowen become available this summer, United could be tempted to make a move, especially if the transfer suits their finances. The Englishman has previously revealed that he idolised Red Devils legend David Beckham as a child, which could work in the club’s favour. One can expect INEOS to keep a close watch on developments at the London Stadium for the rest of the season.
