United star “left disgruntled” by the latest development at Old Trafford – report

Following Ruben Amorim’s sacking, quite a few plans have changed at Manchester United. A new caretaker in Michael Carrick has stepped in, new coaches have come in to assist him, and plenty of first-team stars will hope their fortunes will also change as a result. Quite a few players would have liked to have played more under the Portuguese, but their chances remained few and far between. Kobbie Mainoo is one of them, so is Joshua Zirkzee. The Dutchman started a mere four games under the ex-Sporting CP boss. Joshua Zirkzee was overlooked frequently by Amorim With the World Cup coming up, he was desperate to play more in a bid to make the Netherlands team for the quadrennial showpiece. Despite interest from England, all signs pointed towards a return to Italy where AS Roma were pushing the hardest. In fact, at one stage, the Giallorossi had even agreed on the outlines of a deal and agreed personal terms with the forward. However, INEOS blocked the deal, waiting for the caretaker to take the final call. And the final decision was that the 24-year-old would not be allowed to join the Serie A side. And as per SportsBoom, that has left the former Bologna ace devastated as he wanted a fresh start and had even told his inner circle he expected to be playing in the Serie A from January onwards. Future left in limbo “Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee has been left disgruntled after his move to Roma collapsed, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal. “Sources close to the player have said the Dutch international expected to be a Roma player by the end of the window. “The move has been mooted for months with Zirkzee struggling to make his mark at the Red Devils since his £36.5million move to Old Trafford last season. And Zirkzee is said to be disappointed his future has been left in limbo.” Joshua Zirkzee has two goals and one assist this season and did not start a single game under interim boss Darren Fletcher. With Benjamin Sesko back amongst the goals, and with Bryan Mbeumo and Amad also back, it will be interesting to see how many minutes he gets under Michael Carrick.
