United star in line for eye-watering pay rise if he departs this January – report

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro could be in line to earn an eye-watering £650,000 a week should he make a move to Saudi Arabia this winter.

Despite an improved start to the season and successful period under interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, Casemiro has been phased out of the team lately.

New manager Ruben Amorim has preferred a midfield duo of Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo.

The Brazilian was recalled to the starting line up to face Newcastle United but his performance was largely criticised.

It has previously been reported that the Red Devils are looking to sell the Brazil international this window and that he is open to a such a move after seeing his gametime diminish lately.

TalkSPORT report that another reason that the former Real Madrid man could be so interested in a move is the huge wage increase he is in line for.

“The TV rights for the Saudi Pro League is up for renewal later this year and is expected to provide a major financial boost for clubs across the board, which is why Al Nassr are ready to move.”

“It is understood Al Nassr would be willing to make Casemiro one of the league’s top five highest earners, such is their willingness to secure a deal.”

The 32 year old currently makes an impressive £350,000 a week at Old Trafford but it is believed that his salary could rocket to £650,000 a week in Saudi Arabia.

It has also been reported that he turned down a £3.2 million signing on fee to join Al Ittihad last summer.

Nonetheless, such a pay increase and the chance to play with former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo may prove too good to turn down.

For United’s part, they would be delighted with such a deal as it has also been stated that the Saudi team would be prepared to pay €30 million to get a deal done.

Such a transfer fee and getting his colossal wages off the books would do wonders for United’s ability to spend in January and give Ruben Amorim’s side the shot in the arm that they so badly need.
