United star bags brilliant double as he scoops up another prestigious award

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has won the club’s Players’ Player of the Year following a sensational season, despite the team’s woes on the pitch.

During a tumultuous campaign, Fernandes has been one of the very few positives for United. He has notched an impressive eight goals and 10 assists in 34 Premier League appearances.

Across all competitions, the Portuguese playmaker has plundered 19 goals and as many assists.

Some of his contributions have been crucial, helping United to get over the line, especially in the Europa League final, where the Red Devils have a final against Tottenham Hotspur to look forward to.

Earlier today, it was announced that Fernandes had won the club’s Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award for a record-equalling fourth time.

He was the clear winner, garnering 82% of the votes. In doing so, he becomes just the third United player to win the prize four times, alongside David de Gea and Cristiano Ronaldo.

United have now confirmed that the skipper has also claimed the Players’ Player of the Year, presented by Snapdragon.

Fernandes received the most nominations from his teammates, who made their selections in a confidential ballot that was held at Carrington earlier this week.

Summer signing Noussair Mazraoui came second, while Amad ranked third.

It’s just the first time that Fernandes has won the Players’ Player of the Year award, which is a surprise considering his creative and goalscoring numbers since arriving from Sporting CP in 2020.

Fernandes has now won all three of United’s major end-of-season awards, having won the Goal of the Season accolade in the 2020/21 season.

Everyone at the Peoples Person would like to congratulate Fernandes for his fine achievements.
