United set for midfield injury boost following November international break – report

Manchester United will receive a midfield injury boost after the November international break. Sekou Kone, who has been sidelined since August following a nasty injury, is set to finally play for the U21s following the two-week break, as per The Manchester Evening News. “Manchester United midfielder Sekou Kone is set to be available to play again after the November international break.” The Malian had to be stretchered off during the National League Cup tie against Tamworth following a collision in the box. The tie was subsequently called off due to no replacement ambulance being available at the venue. Sekou Kone injury details It was later confirmed that the midfielder had fractured his eye socket. As a result, he has had to bide his time before returning to the pitch. As previously relayed by The Peoples Person, the 19-year-old had returned to training in October, but that was non-contact. Now, Travis Binnion has confirmed that Sekou Kone has rejoined full training and he expects the youngster to be ready to step out on to the pitch after the November break. “After the international break, we think he will be ready to play, which will be good. Finally back in action “He has not been able to do contact, which limits the work we can do, but he is back in full training now and we will get a body of training back into him, with contact.” This will be good news for Ruben Amorim as well, given Kobbie Mainoo’s uncertain future and the form of Manuel Ugarte. An extra option will be welcome. There were murmurs that the former Guidars FC product would be loaned out, but he caught the head coach’s eye and was even part of the US pre-season squad. Even though he did not play a single minute, big things are expected from Sekou Kone, and who knows, a first team breakthrough might be on the cards this season.
