Manchester United are showing interest in their next target after wrapping up a deal for Benjamin Sesko.
Next priority
The Red Devils have completely revamped their attack with the signings of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.
They have also been heavily linked to midfielders and recent reliable reports have suggested that Ruben Amorim’s men have set their sights on Brighton and Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba.
Goalkeeper has also been a position in which United are keen to upgrade this summer but recent reports suggest that they may have another type of player in mind.
Pietro Comuzzo interest
Ruben Amorim’s side started scouting the centre back Pietro Comuzzo, in the spring after a string of impressive performances in Italy.
News broke in May that United held an interest in the 20-year-old Fiorentina defender.
He recently signed a new deal at the Serie A club but this has reportedly not deterred United, who are still keen on his services.
New price revealed
TuttoSport (via FirenzeViola) have reported that “Pietro Comuzzo is one of the most highly regarded players alongside Moise Kean at the club, and several Premier League scouts have been interested in him in recent days.”
The young defender has numerous admirers according to the Italian website and it has been reported that “Sunderland, Manchester United and notably Nottingham Forest” have all scouted the player as recently as pre-season.
Nonetheless, a deal looks unlikely to come into fruition as Fiorentina are set to demand at least €40 million, possibly even more for the player this summer.
SSC Napoli already tested the water back in January but saw a €30 million plus bonuses offer rebuffed in January.
He played 44 games across all competitions last season, scoring one goal in the process. He could line up to face Man United this weekend when Fiorentina travel to Old Trafford in the final match of pre-season.
