Manchester United have set their sights on Othmane Maamma, having failed to convince Antoine Semenyo to move to Old Trafford in January. Ruben Amorim wants to sign an attacker similar to Amad Diallo to play as a wide forward or a wing-back on the left flank. Accordingly, Semenyo emerged as the club’s preferred target, but the versatile Ghanaian’s preference is to move to Manchester City. Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United have repeatedly scouted Maamma. Europe’s biggest clubs are chasing Othmane Maamma Othmane Maamma joined Watford from Montpellier last summer for less than £1 million. His stocks have risen rapidly since. In October, he played an instrumental role in Morocco’s U20 World Cup triumph. The Moroccan jewel was named Best Player of the U-20 World Cup. In England, he has established himself as a key part of Watford’s squad, having been directly involved in four goals in 10 Championship appearances. The 20-year-old winger, who is capable of playing on either flank, is known for his dazzling trickery and audacious style. He has been labelled “a chance creation monster” due to his tendency to consistently create chaos in the final third. Man United keen on signing Maamma According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid admire Maamma and could make a move for him in the coming months. However, they reportedly face strong competition from United, who are “very interested” in signing him. Watford are resigned to losing their sensational talent. As such, they are hoping to fetch as much money as possible, given the rise in his status. The Spanish outlet claim Watford want at least €18m (£15.7m), including add-ons, for Maamma. United should try to get ahead of their rivals by exploring the possibility of signing the exciting Watford talent during the winter transfer window.
