United players growing increasingly unhappy with this Amorim tactic, could plunge club into relegation danger – report

There are some Manchester United players who feel that Ruben Amorim should change his football system and tactical set-up to accommodate them, reports the Daily Mail.

Amorim has endured a mixed start to life at United since replacing Erik ten Hag in November last year. There have been some incredible results including wins over Arsenal, Manchester City and a draw with Liverpool at Anfield.

However, there have also been some very damaging losses to the likes of Crystal Palace, Brighton and Hove Albion, Newcastle and Bournemouth.

So far, Amorim has overseen 13 Premier League matches, winning four, drawing two and losing seven. At the moment, the Red Devils are languishing in 13th place in the table.

Inconsistency has been hard to find as the players struggle to get fully acclimated to Amorim’s preferred 3-4-3 system.

There have been calls from a section of the fanbase, the media and ex-players for the Portuguese coach to temporarily revert to a 4-2-3-1 but he has consistently maintained that he will not change his ways.

According to the Daily Mail, there are some United stars who have questioned whether a change in approach would help overturn their fortunes on the pitch and get the club back on the right track.

“Confidential understands some have discussed among themselves whether a change of plan that is better suited to their style of play may be the best way forward.”

“There is growing concern among some players that the teething problems they have experienced under Amorim are not going to improve unless he considers at least tweaking the system.”

However, it’s understood that it’s unlikely that Amorim will bow down to their demands.

The newspaper notes that there is currently nothing to suggest Amorim has lost the dressing room.

United are back in action on Sunday when they go away to Tottenham Hotspur.
