United make staggering bid for incredible forward, Ineos “pushing” to agree record transfer ASAP – report

Manchester United have made an improved offer to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, as per reports.

United have stepped up their efforts to sign Mbeumo, as Ruben Amorim looks to strengthen his attack.

The Red Devils have already agreed a deal to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, and now they have set their sights on the Brentford talisman.

Earlier this week, it emerged that the Bees have turned down United’s offer, thought to be worth around £55m, including add-ons. However, United have not left the negotiating table.

According to ESPN, the Mancunians have made an improved offer, which is worth more than £60m.

If Brentford accept United’s offer, the transfer will represent a club-record sale for Thomas Frank’s men. Considering the 25-year-old’s importance to the side, it would not surprise many.

Brentford scored 66 goals in the Premier League this season, and Mbeumo was directly involved in 28, 20 goals and 8 assists, of those.

Apart from his output, the Cameroonian right-winger, who is also capable of playing through the middle, has earned plaudits for his impeccable work ethic as well.

He would be a brilliant addition to Amorim’s project, and it is claimed United are “pushing to get the deal done as quickly as possible.”

Mbeumo has also attracted strong interest from Newcastle United, but it is believed that he favours a move to Old Trafford.

The Cameroonian joined Brentford from Troyes in 2019 and has 12 months remaining on his current contract at the Gtech Community Stadium. However, the club have the option to extend it by another year.

Apart from new playmakers, Amorim is also keen to add a new striker to his frontline. Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United are looking to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP.
