United in contact with “world-class” La Liga star, club “ready to sanction” January transfer – report

Senne Lammens’ first two appearances for Manchester United have coincided with Ruben Amorim’s first back-to-back Premier League wins.

United’s goalkeeping situation was a major concern in the early weeks of the season, as both Andre Onana and Altay Bayındır delivered unconvincing performances.

Accordingly, United signed Lammens from Royal Antwerp. The Belgian has looked assured in goal in his first two Premier League starts.

However, the 23-year-old, who only had one full season of the Belgian Pro League under his belt before moving to Old Trafford, is relatively inexperienced, and one mistake could intensify the pressure on his young shoulders.

Amid this, United have reportedly been offered an opportunity to sign an experienced shot-stopper.

Man United offered Ter Stegen

According to TBR Football, Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been offered to a number of Premier League clubs including United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.

The six-time La Liga winner is currently sidelined due to back surgery. However, he is not expected to start regularly for Barcelona upon his return to full fitness.

Barca’s new signing Joan Garcia has comfortably established himself as Hansi Flick’s first-choice man between the sticks.

It is understood Ter Stegen already knows he is no longer a guaranteed starter at Camp Nou. The 33-year-old wants to play regularly with the World Cup on the horizon.

Barcelona prepared to let Ter Stegen leave

Ter Stegen still has two and a half years left on his contract, but the Blaugrana are “ready to sanction a loan move in January.”

It is believed Barcelona have told the “world-class” goalkeeper’s camp they can find him a new club.

“Intermediaries have been given the green light to look at prospective moves around Europe, and the Premier League is a destination he would seriously consider,” journalist Graeme Bailey told TBR Football.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United have “received fresh encouragement” to make a move for another Barcelona veteran, Robert Lewandowski.
