The January transfer window is upon us, and Manchester United are already close to completing their first deal. A lack of incoming transfer activity saw Ruben Amorim lash out at Jason Wilcox, United’s director of football, and that ultimately cost him his job. But the Red Devils have been busy with outgoings, with The Manchester Evening News revealing that academy starlet Sam Mather has agreed to join Turkish side Kayserispor for an undisclosed fee. The Carrington graduate travelled to Turkiye for his medical on Wednesday. He is expected to join the club’s Antalya training camp after completing all formalities. He was called up to senior training on occasions by Amorim but his system did not favour natural wingers and hence, no opportunity ever came his way.
