United fans give shocking response as 58% of fans would welcome this star back into the fold

Manchester United fans have given a rather surprising response to which player the club should keep this window.

United need sales

After securing the signings of Mathias Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, United need some sales.

What’s more, the Red Devils don’t even seem done with signings as they are currently pursuing midfielder Carlos Baleba and may even also try and sign a keeper before the end of the window.

There is a list of players the club would love to sell this window such as Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia.

These players did not travel to the United States on tour and are not training with the first team as it has been made abundantly clear by Ruben Amorim that they have no future at the club.

Alejandro Garnacho surprise

The Peoples Person held a poll asking readers “if one of these players were to stay at Old Trafford this summer, which would you prefer it to be?”.

Surprisingly a huge majority of 58% of readers chose Garnacho. The Argentine broke onto the scene in 2022 and was one of the team’s stars in 2023-2024, scoring a goal in the FA Cup final.

Nonetheless, his relationship deteriorated massively with Ruben Amorim and his behaviour this summer has been incredibly unprofessional.

He has made it clear that he only wants Chelsea and allegedly has stated that he will happily sit out half the season if United do not sell him to his preferred destination.

On the the other side of the coin, fans may be pointing to his age, potential and ability in comparison to the others on the list.

Antony in second place

Supporters have chosen Antony as the second player they would be content with keeping in the squad as 29% chose the Brazilian.

Antony’s case is a little different as he was never frozen out for bad behaviour, his loan was owing to an inability to perform in English football.

He enjoyed a fantastic loan spell at Real Betis last season and he has also made it clear that he has one destination in mind.

Unfortunately Betis do not seem able or willing to pay the money United want, meaning it is a race against time whether or not the player actually leaves this window or not.

Tyrell Malacia 3rd

9% of fans voted for Malacia to stay at the club if necessary. The Dutch fullback has had a very unfortunate career at United. Despite a pretty decent first season, he spent the entirety of the 2023-2024 injured.

He then was only able to collect some minutes last season before being loaned out to PSV Eindhoven in the second half of the season.

Despite the Dutch side winning the league they decided not to sign him permanently and the club have been left scrambling trying to secure an exit for the player.

Malacia has probably been the best behaved player and his exit is more down to his lack of ability to play in the wing back system that Amorim is keen to stamp on this United side.

Jadon Sancho

Perhaps no surprise at all is that only 4% of fans who voted would welcome Sancho back into the fold.

The Englishman has burnt any bridges he had at the club a long time ago through his playing for Chelsea last season and some of the comments he has made about United.

He managed to fall out with Erik ten Hag and it is obvious that Amorim or the club never considered returning him to the first team squad.

United will hope he secures a move to Italy or Turkey before the end of the window.

Proud owner of such niche shirts such as Kleberson, Eric Djemba-Djemba and Gary Neville. Grew up pretending to be Ruud van Nistelrooy and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the back garden, with little success.
