Manchester United had a busy summer transfer window with five incomings and numerous outgoings.
Fans of the club have had their say on who will be the best signing for Ruben Amorim’s side this season.
The Peoples Person asked its readers “who will prove to be United’s best summer signing over time” and they gave a resounding response.
Bryan Mbeumo has impressed
The Cameroonian has already scored two goals against Grimsby Town and Burnley and he has looked a real threat in his short United career to date.
He bagged 20 Premier League goals last season for Brentford, so fans probably imagine him doing similarly well for the Red Devils this year.
A huge 62% of fans backed the forward to prove to be the club’s best new signing this season and on current form, it is hard to argue with.
Matheus Cunha a distant second
The Brazilian also had an incredible season in the Premier League last year with Wolverhampton Wanderers, scoring 15 goals.
He has been a bit unlucky to date, hitting the post and being the victim of great goalkeeping saves. Therefore, he has not yet scored for Ruben Amorim’s side but has clearly had a positive impact.
Cunha was forced off injured against Burnley before the international break but luckily it appears his injury is not too serious and he will be back in action soon.
18% of supporters who voted believe he will be the club’s best summer signing.
Senne Lammens
The Belgian keeper was brought in on deadline day and with the departure of Andre Onana on loan to Turkey, it seems he will be given a huge shot at the number one spot.
The signing could be viewed as a gamble as he is only 23-years-old and is coming from the Belgian league but with the keeper position being such a problematic area for years, United fans will be hopeful he can have a massive positive impact.
10% of readers believe the young Belgian will be the shrewdest signing of the new campaign.
Surprisingly, despite Rasmus Hojlund’s struggles last season, only 8% feel that Benjamin Sesko will be the club’s most impactful signing.
Nonetheless, at 22-years-old perhaps fans feel he will need time to adapt to the league and team where Mbeumo and Cunha are more ready-to-go.
Finally, 2% of supporters felt that youngster Diego Leon would prove to be the club’s best buy of 2025.
