United closing in on huge sale as intermediary sent to Italy to seal the deal – report

Jadon Sancho’s move to Juventus has taken a step in the right direction.

Mixed messages so far

There have been incredibly mixed signals coming out of Italy over the last few weeks over Sancho’s proposed move to Juventus.

There seems to be a consensus that he wants the move and has agreed a wage cut to join the Old Lady.

There is also a belief that Juventus are relying on outgoings to complete a transfer.

Excitement grew as there were reports that a deal was close to being finalised and that he was preparing to undergo a medical. Nonetheless, this has since been heavily refuted.

The ultra-reliable journalist, David Ornstein, poured icy cold water over the deal claiming that Sancho was certainly not close to a transfer to Italy.

Intermediary sent

United are still keen to sell the winger and Juventus are still eager to conclude a deal.

Italian paper Corriere dello sport have reported that steps have been taken to do just that. They assert that “one intermediary hired by Manchester United has emerged in the city: Matthew Conning, a transfer operator who, along with the player’s large team, is handling one of the most complex transfers of the summer.”

The paper reports that Juventus have been keen on a deal for the Englishman for over a year and this is seen as the summer where they finally make their move.

It is also once again stated that, much like United, Juventus are in sell to buy mode.

It is claimed that, “the third wheel, so cumbersome that he could derail the entire Sancho deal, is Nico Gonzalez. The input from above goes something like this: without the departure of one winger, another can’t arrive.”

All agreed with Sancho

In addition, the outlet states “while waiting for a breakthrough, Juventus ironed out the details with Sancho, reaching an agreement with the winger on a contract worth €6 million net plus bonuses until 2030.”

A potential complication is that United won’t pay a severance package but Juve have been so impressed by Sancho dropping his wage demands, they may “shoulder this expense” for him.

Corriere dello Sport also mention that there is still no agreement on Sancho’s fee with United, as Juve are offering €18-19 million, six less than the €25 million United have asked for.
