Manchester United have been keeping a close eye on the South American market of late. The Red Devils are looking to turn a corner under Ruben Amorim after a turbulent few seasons. One of the most significant changes implemented by INEOS since taking charge has been the club’s approach to the transfer market, with a renewed focus on youth. The Premier League giants are now alert to emerging talents across the globe as they look to inject more quality into their squad. United signed Diego Leon this summer to provide additional cover at full-back, and it now appears that they have set their sights on another South American talent. Not short of admirers According to Fichajes, United are keeping a close eye on Palmeiras attacking midfielder Allan. The 21 year old has been in superb form for the Brazilian club this season, registering two goals and seven assists in 48 appearances across competitions. The youngster was so impressive that Palmeiras tied him down to a new deal until 2029 in June. There is reportedly a €100 million release clause in his contract, which complicates any potential move away from the Allianz Parque. To make matters worse, United will also face competition from Chelsea and Real Madrid in the race for Allan’s signature. Both English clubs have been monitoring the player’s development closely and are reportedly ready to make a move. The Santiago Bernabeu hierarchy, meanwhile, are impressed with his technical ability, although they would prefer to wait until next summer before acting on their interest. Palmeiras preparing for a big move Palmeiras are aware of the growing interest in their prized asset and are already preparing for a potential blockbuster departure. Real Madrid already have contacts at the Brazilian club following their acquisition of Endrick a few years ago. Meanwhile, Chelsea also signed Estevao from the Sao Paulo club last year and could use their connections to good advantage. United, therefore, could be at a disadvantage in the race for Allan, although it would be unwise to rule them out just yet. The Red Devils are looking to make their presence felt in the South American market and have also been linked with Corinthians midfielder Breno Bidon in recent weeks. The Premier League giants are also hot on the heels of Vasco da Gama forward Rayan, and Allan appears to be their next target. With Old Trafford already boasting a strong South American contingent, United could prove an attractive destination for the youngster.
