United ace makes big decision about his club future after significant transfer development – report

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has reportedly reached a verdict about his club future following the signing of Benjamin Sesko.

Sesko’s arrival spells trouble for Hojlund

United announced the completion of Sesko’s transfer on Saturday morning. He joins the English giants from RB Leipzig in a deal worth a total £73.7m.

Ruben Amorim’s side warded off strong competition from Newcastle to land Sesko.

The Slovenian was unveiled in front of the Old Trafford crowd just before the pre-season meeting with Fiorentina kicked off. Amorim later spoke glowingly of Sesko and what he can bring to the side.

The expectation is that Sesko will be United’s starting striker, pushing Hojlund down the pecking order. A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that the Red Devils are now open to offloading Hojlund, who has struggled to make an impact since making the jump from Atalanta in the summer of 2023.

Hojlund was an unused substitute for United against Fiorentina – a clear message that his place in the team is no longer guaranteed.

More recently, it emerged that United have directly informed the Dane that he must leave if he hopes to get significant playing time in 2025/26.

Now, Graeme Bailey of TBR Football has revealed how Hojlund truly feels about these latest developments.

Hojlund’s feelings on his United situation

According to Bailey, Hojlund has decided that he may ultimately be forced to call time on his United and part ways with the club before the close of the window.

Bailey notes, “Hojlund is not part of the ‘bomb’ squad at United – but there is an acceptance that he is set to leave – his chances were already looking limited before Sesko’s arrival.”

“Talks are ongoing and I am told that AC Milan are now thinking that they could take Hojlund as well as Vlahovic in theory.”

“City rivals Inter can’t be ruled out if they manage to move on Mehdi Teremi, which looks likely. And Juve, who are struggling to finalise a deal for Randal Kolo Muani, can’t be ruled out.”

At the moment, Milan appears to be Hojlund’s most likely destination. There have been discussions over a loan move, with Milan retaining the option to permanently sign the 22-year-old if he does well at the San Siro.

Hojlund has yet to give his approval to seal a switch to Italy.
