“Unhappy” United star responds to ex-teammate’s attempt at dragging him into ongoing feud with the club – report

Marcus Rashford was reportedly not pleased with Jadon Sancho’s attempts at dragging him into his ongoing feud with Manchester United.

Rashford sealed a loan move to Aston Villa in the January transfer window and made his debut for the Villains on Sunday as they beat Tottenham Hotspur in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The Carrington academy graduate was thrust into the action in the second half and enjoyed a very positive cameo.

To mark his first appearance for Villa, Rashford made a social media post, thanking the fans for their support. Sancho – who completed his own loan away from Old Trafford last summer in a deal which includes a permanent move to Chelsea – commented on the post with just one word: “freedom.”

The comment sparked the anger of the United faithful, who hit back at the suggestion that the two forwards were somehow imprisoned at the Theatre of Dreams.

Now the Daily Mail have issued an update on how Rashford feels about the situation.

According to the newspaper, “Sources close to Rashford have indicated that he doesn’t appreciate being dragged into his former United and England team-mate’s apparent beef with the club.”

“Sources have said Rashford is unhappy at being dragged into Sancho’s issues with the club.”

“United are his [Rashford’s] boyhood team and he wants to remain on good terms with the club and their supporters.”

It’s understood that while Sancho’s time at United has come to an end, Rashford may still have a future with the Red Devils.

His loan deal to Villa only includes a £40m option to buy, rather than obligation.

While Sancho’s form has slightly improved since leaving United, he has yet to take the world at storm by Chelsea. In the 21 appearances he has made for the Blues across all competitions, the 24-year-old has managed just two goals.

He struggled on the left side of the attack as Chelsea were dumped out of the FA Cup by Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday.
