We are going to have to wait for Manchester United’s first Academy outing of 2025.
Friday night’s away match against Leeds United in Premier League 2 has been postponed due to the icy weather in Yorkshire.
A pitch inspection at York City’s LNER Community Stadium has ruled that the conditions are unplayable, so the 19:00 GMT kick-off will need to be rearranged.
Travis Binnion’s side will have been eagerly anticipating an encounter with our rivals from across the Pennines, following the winter break at this level.
Our next scheduled Under-21s fixture is at home to Aston Villa on Saturday 18 January, at Carrington.
Elyh Harrison (Chester) and Joe Hugill (Wigan Athetlic) have returned from loan spells away from the club and could have been available for selection.
Meanwhile, the Under-18s are in FA Youth Cup action against Preston North End in a week’s time (Friday 17 January).
The 19:00 GMT kick-off at Leigh Sports Village will be shown live on MUTV.
