Defender Tyler Fredricson has bid an emotional farewell following confirmation that he has permanently parted ways with Manchester United.
Exit
Earlier today, it was announced that Fredricson has completed a move to INEOS-owned FC Lausanne-Sport.
Fredricson joined United at Under-9 level and came up through the ranks, eventually breaking into the first team set-up under former manager Ruben Amorim.
A lifelong United fan, Fredricson played in every round of United’s 2022 FA Youth Cup as the Under-18s made it all the way to the final and beat Nottingham Forest in a showpiece final that was held at Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old made his senior debut in a narrow defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers in April 2025. Despite United losing, Fredricson gave a solid account of himself and earned plaudits for his calm and composed performance.
He went on to make further senior appearances against Brentford, Grimsby Town and Newcastle United.
He is a history-maker at United, having secured the prestigious Denzil Haroun Reserve-Team Player of the Year award in 2025.
Fredricson has put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Lausanne-Sport.
Farewell
Fredricson took to social media to post a collection of photographs celebrating his most cherished memories from his time at United.
He also wrote, “After 11 years it’s my time to say goodbye to Manchester United.”
“I want to thank every coach, player, staff member and the incredible fans for supporting me throughout my journey.”
“Wearing this badge and representing this club has been a dream come true and will always be something I am very proud of.”
“Thank you for everything. Once a red. Always a red.”
Lausanne finished ninth in the Swiss Super League last season. Meanwhile, Michael Carrick and his players return to pre-season action on Saturday when they face Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid.
