“Tremendous player” prepared to sign for Manchester United – Report

Old-Trafford

Manchester United look set to have a gala summer transfer window. The Red Devils have already spent a lot of money bringing in the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo for the attack so far.

The Red Devils don’t seem to be anywhere close to done as of yet. One other player whose name has been doing the rounds in the recent days is Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba.

News – Report – Manchester United now offer more than £60m fee demanded to sign player

Man Utd want to bring the Cameroonian international to Old Trafford.

As per The Guardian, Baleba has indicated that he is keen to sign for Manchester United. The 21-year-old midfielder would love the jump from the Seagulls to the Red Devils but Brighton are not keen on selling their talented asset and would demand more than £100m this summer.

Moreover, as per former scout Mick Brown via Football Insider, the tremendous Cameroonian international would love to move to Old Trafford. He said:

“From what I hear, he (Baleba) wants to make the move (to United). He’s got friends in the squad who will have been talking to him about joining. I think he’s a tremendous player, he looks like a real top player who can keep improving and get to a really high level.”

Baleba already has his compatriots Mbeumo and Andre Onana at the M16-based club. The young midfielder would be getting to hear a lot of good things from his countrymen and this is likely to tilt his heart in favour of Old Trafford.

A predominantly defensive midfielder, the sheer energy that Baleba brings to the table cannot be understated.

It almost feels like Brighton have an extra man in midfield whenever the youngster plays and this could be massive for Ruben Amorim’s team.

Baleba would add both defensive steel and attacking impetus to the Manchester United midfield. The Brighton starlet would be an upgrade on the likes of Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte, who have failed to consistently perform in the PL, and could prove to be a ceiling-raising signing at Old Trafford.

It remains to be seen how much Man Utd are able to financially push to sign the African.

It would be an ardent task to convince Brighton to sell their prized asset with not long left in the summer transfer window and let’s wait and see how things play out.
