Manchester United Women star Ella Toone has been named the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for January.
Our no.7 enjoyed a fabulous start to 2025, including scoring a hat-trick in the memorable 4-2 Manchester derby win over City at the Etihad Stadium.
With five goals in total, from only four matches, she was an obvious choice for this prize, despite competition from five other WSL players.
One of these was Reds team-mate Elisabeth Terland, who was a nominee for our own club award in January, also losing out to Ella in this category.
Chelsea pair Erin Cuthbert and Sjoeke Nusken, Bethany England of Tottenham and Manchester City’s Australia international Mary Fowler made up the rest of the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month shortlist.
Tooney also collected the WSL individual accolade for her exploits last month, which featured strikes against West Brom, in the Adobe FA Cup, and Brighton & Hove Albion, in addition to those derby heroics.
Ella has carried her good form into February, as she also found the net in the fifth-round cup triumph at Wolves last weekend, and is one of four Reds in the latest England squad, alongside Grace Clinton, Maya Le Tissier and Millie Turner. Gabby George is on standby for UEFA Women’s Nations League matches against Portugal and Spain later this month.
