Three massive positives see United cruise past Leicester, Amorim will be delighted

Manchester United continued their recent impressive form by thrashing Leicester City 3-0 in their Premier League game at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.

This was the biggest away win under Ruben Amorim. The Red Devils are now unbeaten in their last seven games across all competitions, and there are certainly signs of progress.

The 20-time English league champions climbed up to 13th in the standings and while many might point to the fact that these recent results have come too little too late, the head coach will certainly not see in that light.

Rasmus Hojlund, who had not scored a league goal for 99 days, finally ended his goal drought with a brilliant finish with his weaker foot.

And the second one came from Alejandro Garnacho, who had not found the back of the net in 15 English top flight games. He had scored minutes earlier but it was adjudged to be offside but the Argentine kept at it and got his reward.

Who else but Bruno Fernandes ran the show fro midfield and got his customary goal in the 90th minute with an elegant swing of the right boot from the edge of the box.

Two attackers ended their goalless run while the skipper seems to be building up a head of steam and all this bodes well for the Manchester giant.

The Old Trafford side still have the Europa League to fight for and players are returning to form at the right time while key players are close to returning from injury.

Things falling into place at the right time

Manuel Ugarte returned to action while Mason Mount was on the bench. Harry Maguire is also close to making his return which bodes well ahead of the business end of the season.

Amorim is also starting to embrace the culture of the Red Devils, handing Harry Amass his first team debut while Chido Obi also came on late in the game. Toby Collyer also silently impressed and the youth are beginning to prove themselves at the right time as well.

Ayden Heaven’s injury was the only negative from a fine evening’s work. The January signing looked a class apart on his first Premier League start but had to be stretchered off.

Now, the team have a fortnight to rest before a huge run of games in April, both in the league and in Europe. Hopefully, the players can keep building their confidence and show that the head coach’s methods are finally beginning to take shape.
