“Those two will win a lot of football matches:” Gary Neville reckons these players will be key to United’s success following crucial win over Brighton

Manchester United enjoyed a convincing 4-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday night, producing one of their best attacking displays in recent memory. It was Ruben Amorim’s third win on the trot, his longest winning streak since becoming Man United manager a little under a year ago. But while it was an impressive match from most of the home team’s lineup, former United captain Gary Neville is of the opinion that two players in particular stood out from the pack. The standout stars “I think Mbeumo and Cunha, I think the risk was removed from those signings in the sense that they’ve been in the Premier League before and they’ve got that hunger to deliver a different level,” Neville explained on Sky Sports following the full-time whistle. “There are a lot of things about those signings that you felt more comfortable with,” Neville continued, before singling out Bryan Mbeumo for praise. “I think that Mbeumo looks like he belongs, he looks hungry, he looks like he wants to score goals,” Neville continued. He then layered praise onto both Cunha and Mbeumo alike, declaring, “Those two will win a lot of football matches for this club.” Neville also explained how he reckons United should utilise the two number 10s in order to maximise their results going forward. Recipe for success “If those two can stay up front, live up front in those spaces, the other eight or nine players in the team can just be the foundation for them and sort of keep clean sheets and defend well; those two will win a lot of football matches,” Neville outlined. While this seems to be a lot of pressure to put on the shoulders of just two players, it does seem that they have the talent to pull it off. Mbeumo was clinical with his two goals, while Cunha’s long-range strike proved just how opportunistic he can be, while once again showing his great determination to score goals for United. Needless to say, these two have proven to be highly successful signings, both of whom could play a key role in lifting United to new heights as the season wears on.
