Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek has clearly outlined his plan for the future, both in the short-term and long-term. Vitek impressing at Bristol City Vitek is currently enjoying an outstanding loan spell in the Championship with Bristol City. He joined the club during the summer transfer window, initially to fill in for number one keeper Max O’Leary, who sustained a long-term injury. However, O’Leary has since been unable to dethrone Vitek between the sticks. Vitek has started all of Bristol’s 15 games this term. He has produced a string of fine performances that have quickly endeared him to the fanbase at Ashton Gate. The Czech Republic U20 international currently shares third place for the most clean sheets in England’s second division this season. He recently revealed that his desire is to play for the United first team and potentially challenge Senne Lammens for a starting berth. Vitek has now reiterated this stance, further stating that he wishes to complete the 2025/26 campaign with Bristol. Vitek outlines plan The 22-year-old told BBC Radio Bristol, “At the moment the main goal is probably to stay here the whole season and play as many matches as possible.” “Every game brings different challenges and that’s how you get as a young keeper the most experience, because you can be third goalkeeper on the training pitch when you’re at Manchester United or big clubs like that but it will never give you the experience from the field.” He continued, “The past three months it’s another step forward for me from last year and there are players with more quality and different solutions in front of goal, so I need to make more quick decisions and be ready.” The shot-stopper said about his United dream, “That’s my plan but I will do my maximum for that and we will see – let’s take game by game and now I’m focussing to play for Bristol City and do my best.” “One day it would be a dream to play for Manchester United but I take game by game and I know there’s a big challenge in front of me but I want to improve every week.” Bristol face Swansea on Saturday at lunchtime.
