“Terminate his contract and receive his full salary until 2028”: United superstar playing dangerous game with INEOS – report

Manchester United have found it hard to solve the Marcus Rashford problem so far this window.

The Mancunian fell out with Ruben Amorim last season, with the forward subsequently announcing that he wanted to leave his boyhood club.

A loan move to Aston Villa was arranged, with Villa having the option of converting his temporary stint into a permanent stay for £40 million.

But Unai Emery’s team failed to qualify for the Champions League, thereby ending any hopes of securing the Englishman’s signature.

Rashford’s future up in the air

The United coach has made it pretty clear that the Carrington graduate is not part of his plans moving forward, and his No.10 jersey has already been handed over to Matheus Cunha.

Marcus Rashford seems hellbent on moving to Barcelona, who have been trying to lowball INEOS by offering loan proposals only. The United co-owners want to move the forward on permanently.

The England international was handed extended time off to secure a move away, but he is back in training at Carrington, but away from the main group.

In fact, all exiled players have been instructed to attend training only once the first team departs. And this has not impressed the 27-year-old.

As per SPORT (via Sport Witness), the fight between Rashford and the 20-time English league champions is “getting tougher”. In fact, he is even considering suing his boyhood club, in a bid to force through a move.

Rashford to sue United

“Rashford’s entourage has even considered whether his rights as a professional footballer with a contract were being violated, something that could lead him to sue United to terminate his contract and receive his full salary until 2028.”

The player’s camp is “increasingly certain” he can leave on loan, even though United do not want to agree to the same. Their reasoning is that Barca were ready to spend big on Nico Williams, who ended up staying at Athletic Club.

Then why can they not spend similarly on long-term target Rashford? United are right to hold firm as the player as three years left on his current deal.

There is no point in agreeing another loan. Maybe a loan with an obligation can be agreed. So far, no concrete proposals have landed from the Camp Nou.

And Rashford’s camp thinking of suing the club would set a dangerous precedent. Hopefully, a resolution presents itself before things turn ugly.
