Tensions boil over as United star spotted losing it with his teammate during 2-0 loss to West Ham

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw was spotted by the cameras laying into teammate Rasmus Hojlund, as the club fell to a 2-0 defeat against West Ham

United were brought back down to reality just three days after reaching the Europa League final as fellow Premier League strugglers West Ham beat them to secure their first win at Old Trafford since 2007.

Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen scored for the visitors, condemning United to a 17th top-flight defeat of the season, with nine of them coming on home turf.

This latest disappointing result was a bitter one for Ruben Amorim to take. The Portuguese coach pulled no punches in his post-match press conference, as he tore into his players for lacking a sense of urgency. He also claimed that there are some within the club who do not care about losing games.

One player who continued to struggle, just as he has for much of the season, was Hojlund, who once again failed to make a meaningful impact up front.

Amorim opted to start Hojlund over Chido Obi, and it was a decision that backfired spectacularly. Not only did Hojlund squander several chances that might have altered the course of the match, but he also struggled with the fundamentals, failing to hold up play effectively or make intelligent runs off the ball.

One such moment saw Hojlund carelessly lose possession to West Ham, prompting an angry reaction from Shaw, who didn’t hold back in expressing his frustration.

As pointed out by The Express, Hojlund found himself on the receiving end of a dressing down from the experienced defender.

Just before the half-time whistle, Shaw lost his composure and shouted at Hojlund after yet another failed attempt to control the ball, yelling, “Ras, come on!”

Hojlund has managed just four Premier League goals this term.

However, Shaw and Hojlund weren’t the only United players caught in a tense exchange. Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo also had a confrontation, according to the Manchester Evening News.

MEN note that in the 13th minute of proceedings. Fernandes “had a very animated moan” at Mainoo, perhaps due to the latter’s positioning.

United have dropped down to 16th in the table and are yet to reach 40 points with just two games left to play.
