Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has confirmed that three players will miss our final post-season clash with Hong Kong, China on Friday.

As reported previously, Harry Maguire, Andre Onana and Diogo Dalot have flown to India in the past 24 hours, exercising a rare opportunity to engage with fans in the country.

The trio, having featured in Wednesday’s clash with ASEAN All-Stars, will not play on Friday as a result. The boss has already ruled Luke Shaw out of the game in Hong Kong too.

Shaw wasn’t involved in Malaysia, nor were Matthijs de Ligt, Mason Mount and Joshua Zirkzee, although Amorim has declared a clean bill of health otherwise ahead of our second and final outing of the post-season trip.

“Of course, the team is tired because we flew to Malaysia and with the jet lag we had a game in difficult conditions,” began Amorim at his press conference earlier today.

“But we are ready to play again and are really happy to be here. We enjoy the city and the weather is like Manchester!

“We have three players who have gone to India to give something to the fans around the world.

“All of them are going to play [otherwise]. If there is a physical issue, they cannot play. But if they are available, they will play this game.”

Opting to make a large number of changes at the half-hour and half-time intervals in Kuala Lumpur, Ruben also explained how he may choose to do the same on Friday.

Our clash at the Hong Kong Stadium is expected to be attended by nearly 40,000 supporters, who will all be hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite players.

“If the players are available, I am going to put the players to play,” Ruben added. “I will try to divide [the team] because I don’t want all the young kids together.

“I don’t know if they [Garnacho and Fernandes] will play together. I am trying to balance the team, but if they are fit, they will play. We will have the maximum respect for everybody here.”
