Manchester United Women manager Marc Skinner has provided the latest injury news ahead of Saturday’s Adobe FA Cup quarter-final against Sunderland.

Tickets for the 17:30 GMT kick-off at Leigh Sports Village are still available and your support would be appreciated, as the Reds look to reach the semi-finals.

In a press conference to preview the occasion, Skinner provided his assessment of the squad and confirmed Elisabeth Terland is set to miss out through injury.

“I believe that Elisabeth will be out this weekend,” said Marc. “Hopefully we will know more next week and whether there is a return for the Liverpool game.”

Turning his attention to the rest of the group, the boss continued: “Jayde [Riviere] has been training back on the field. Whether it is too soon this weekend, only time will tell, so we will know a little bit more over the next couple of days.

“Lisa [Naalsund], again, whether this one is a little bit too soon we don’t know, but she has been training since the day before yesterday so she’s in contention, hopefully.

“Anna Sandberg has returned from illness so she has trained as well. Simi Awujo will miss this one. Apart from Evie Rabjohn, those are the players. Elisabeth will be out this weekend and Simi. Then we’ll test Jayde going into the next few days.”

Skinner was also asked whether he might look to rest goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce, with Kayla Rendell and Safia Middleton-Patel both pushing for minutes.

“Phallon is in incredible form and I think it’s important that we keep that up,” said Marc. “This is a game to win, but if the right moments arise then hopefully we can give opportunity, but the reality it’s about winning the game so we have to keep as structured as possible.”
