Spanish giants have two aces up their sleeve to get Carrington graduate out of United, INEOS will not be impressed – report

It proved to be extremely difficult for Manchester United to offload Marcus Rashford in the summer. After months of discussions, a loan deal was agreed with Barcelona.

It was always the Mancunian’s dream to join the Catalan giants, and he even agreed to take a pay cut to make his dream come true.

The La Liga giants have an option to buy him outright for €30 million at the end of his loan spell, with the Englishman keen to continue at the Camp Nou.

United also are more than eager to finally part ways with their academy graduate following his fallout with Ruben Amorim, and Barca are keen to take advantage of the Red Devils’ desperation.

Another loan?

As per SPORT, the Spanish side are now mulling over another loan deal for the 27-year-old, a stance that will not please INEOS one bit.

Should they not go down the loan route, Barcelona have no plans of paying the €30 million, despite the attacker’s superb recent form.

They are aware of the Carrington graduate’s wish to remain in Spain, and are ready to use that as leverage and try and agree a lower fee.

“Barça’s plan is to keep Marcus Rashford if everything continues as it is, but by lowering the transfer fee or opting for a new loan. And they see this as more than feasible.

“Having Rashford under control will allow Barça to negotiate with superiority over United, a club that wants to definitively end the Englishman’s spell due to the conflicts between the two parties.

“The Blaugrana have a purchase option for just over €30 million, a fair price considering the player’s quality, but they are very clear that it is absolutely negotiable.

Reduced fee

“Not only that, neither party rules out a new loan deal as long as the player gives the green light. Barça understands there will be no problem reaching an agreement if they want to keep the player, and Rashford knows he will have to continue making a financial effort to stay in Spain.”

His loan spell did not start in the best manner, with rumours of Barcelona being open to termainating his loan spell early doing the rounds.

But Marcus Rashford has exploded recently, scoring three times while also registering five assists in 10 games across all competitions.

And now, there is a very good chance he continues in Spain, despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

INEOS will hope they can raise at least €30 million, given the England international’s form, with the entire money set to count as pure profit due to his academy background.
