Spanish giants dreaming of €50m United star, propose win-win deal INEOS could struggle to dismiss – report

Manchester United winger Antony’s move to Real Betis has taken another twist, according to reports from Spain.

The 25-year-old struggled to justify his £82 million price tag at United, leading the club to send him on loan to Betis last winter in an effort to revive his career.

With the La Liga side, the Brazilian showed flashes of brilliance, once again demonstrating his ability to influence play in the final third.

In 26 appearances for the Verdiblancos during the second half of the 2024-25 season, he registered nine goals and five assists.

Those stats clearly highlight his talent, and INEOS now feels the time is right to cash in.

A number of clubs are interested in signing Antony, but according to Diario AS, Betis are determined to win that transfer race.

The Spanish outlet reports that United are demanding around €50 million (£42.5 million) for the winger.

Betis, however, cannot meet that price but remains intent on securing Antony’s services. They have crafted an ideal proposal to persuade INEOS to sanction the former Ajax winger’s move.

Betis’ tempting Antony transfer proposal

Betis are pushing to persuade United to accept a reduced fee while retaining a high percentage of any future sale, banking on Antony’s continued development in Spain.

According to the Spanish publication, the two clubs have held multiple meetings in Manchester regarding this transfer.

There is hope in Heliopolis that the win-win offer will be accepted, especially since no other club is making a strong push to sign United’s number 21, and Betis have successfully used this strategy before.

The La Liga side implemented the same approach when signing Barcelona’s Abde Ezzalzouli. They secured the Moroccan winger for €7.5 million (£6.3 million), with the Catalan giants retaining 50% of any future transfer fee.

It remains to be seen whether INEOS will allow Antony to move to the Estadio Benito Villamarín on such terms.

Antony wants Betis stay

Notably, Diario AS claims the winger has informed United of his desire to continue at Betis.

He feels he has rediscovered his best football in Spain and is even willing to take a pay cut to continue developing under Manuel Pellegrini.
