Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller, who is reportedly interested in making a summer move.
The Red Devils are keen to bolster their midfield ranks next summer, as they failed to address this department in the previous transfer market campaign as they preferred to focus on revamping their attack.
Therefore, Ruben Amorim is still forced to rely on an over-the-hill Casemiro as a regular starter, and an underwhelming Manuel Ugarte as his backup in the holding midfielder role. Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes has been adjusting to a deeper role, as part of the double pivot, keeping a frustrated Kobbie Mainoo on the bench.
Man United interested in Angelo Stiller

This far-from-ideal department requires the arrival of at least one new midfielder. But while United have been linked with young Premier League stars like Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson, reports in Germany have identified Stiller as an alternative, and perhaps less expensive solution.
On Tuesday, Sky Sport DE reported that the 24-year-old has been a target for Man Utd since the summer, and that Stuttgart would be willing to sell him for €50 million.
On Wednesday, Sky journalists Florian Plettenberg and Dennis Bayer reiterated that MUFC are indeed watching the German player closely, while adding that the latter is ‘very open’ to a summer move.

Should #VfB buy out his release clause, they currently intend to demand more than €50 million for the 24-year-old midfielder as per @_dennisbayer.

Nevertheless, the source expects Stuttgart to pay the €2 million required to annul the midfielder’s €40 million release clause. This would allow the Bundesliga club to freely negotiate Stiller’s sale, and subsequently raise their asking price above €50 million.

The Munchen native began his career at Bayern Munich. After rising through the ranks, he was released in 2021, so he ended up joining Hoffenheim, where he managed to make his bones before he went on to establish himself as one of the finest midfielders in the top flight.
Stiller, who has been hailed as the ‘Diamond of the Bundesliga’, has been a German international since 2024 and now has five international caps to his name.
The Bayern Munich youth product is renowned for his precise passing, as evidenced by the remarkable number of assists he produced.
Stiller’s stats per club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Stuttgart | 92 | 6 | 21 |
Hoffenheim | 52 | 4 | 3 |
Bayern Munich II | 50 | 1 | 8 |
Bayern Munich | 3 | 0 | 0 |
While this isn’t the first time Man Utd are linked with Stiller, the stars might line up next summer. It should be noted that MUFC’s Head of Recruitment, Christopher Vivell, is an expert at poaching Bundesliga stars, with Benjamin Sesko being the latest example.
